About the Placement

Our ecolodge is located on the border of Lago Puelo, interior in chilean Patagonia. Surrounded by crystal clear lakes and streams and hundreds of acres of emerald forests, Ulaa Patagonia is the perfect natural paradise to spend an unforgettable holiday. A wide variety of outdoor options, tours, cultural activities and local delicacies to cap each day are just some of our proposals.

Walks in emerald woods, canoeing in Las Rocas, Puelo Inferior Lakes and Puelo River, regional cookery workshops, visiting the closest village are part of Ulaa"s indescribable magic.

Accommodations are provided in either a small dormitory style cabin or in private rooms, depending on room availability. All bathrooms have hot water. Linens and towels are also provided. Three meals a day are provided, as well as drinking water; a vegetarian menu is also available upon advance notification. Cost includes meals with hotel staff. Volunteers interested in dining with hotel guests will pay an additional fee, per meal. One free day each week (unless it is high season or extremely busy - then the free day is accumulated). Limited internet access is available. Volunteers may be able to participate on some horseback rides and hiking tours with guests.

 

 

Role of Volunteer

We want volunteers who can help with teaching English, tour guiding, and general host and help at our lodge. We will adapt your stay to your skills. We are also looking for volunteers who are interested in participating in general agricultural activities on our organic farm. Some of the activities may include:

nursery work: sowing seeds, filling bags, weeding reforestation work: planting, weeding, mulching, staking, pruning, creation and maintenance of vegetable gardens, compost making, Planting and harvesting crops, help in the preparation of meals, simple construction work, artwork, translating, preparation of info and materials for the school, painting, help in feeding and caring for the animals, feeding worms and separating worms from the humus.

  

Travel Information

Volunteers must provide their own transportation to Bariloche International Airport in Argentina. We will provide transportation from Bariloche to the ecolodge.
